We had two hypothesis to begin with:
1
Users would keep an archive of places (restaurants and cafes) they have visited.
Users would be interested in knowing where their friends are visiting.
2
To test our hypothesis
We made low fidelity prototypes for these hypothesis. Then we sat with regular users of the app. After a week of User Interviews we had handful of varying insights from different personas.

A bit about ratings
A bit about ratings
Research indicated that generic 5-star ratings frequently fail to align with individual tastes, resulting in unsatisfactory dining experiences.
Users expressed a strong preference for personalized recommendations that consider their specific preferences and past dining history, offering a more tailored and satisfying experience.

We solve this with Personalised Ratings and Match Score. They can rate restaurants they have been to and get personalised ratings for all restaurants.
My personalised rating for a restaurant can be 5/10 and yours 8/10 despite both of us giving it a 9/10.
Hence more ✨✨ PERSONALISED ✨✨

I assessed the strengths and weaknesses of map-based apps like Beli, Corner, and Step to better understand solutions available in the market for location/places sharing. I identified how these apps build community engagement, allowing me to design a more user-centered solution.

Designing the solution came with several challenges throughout the process. I had to work closely with the tech team to ensure that the map features were feasible to develop. We faced significant constraints regarding accessing contacts, which was new for our product. After gathering extensive feedback, we finally settled on an effective way for users to pin people on the map.
